I always appreciate discovering a newer slot game developer, it’s exciting! One of the reasons I find it exciting is the fact that I get to see some new slots, as well as some creativity and innovation. I don’t know if it’s just me, but I get bored of the same old content that has been around for decades. Sometimes something fresh is warranted. This is definitely one of the core reasons I was drawn to Aztec Temple, it was designed by developer newbies Join Games who only turn 5 years old in 2019. With this allure prompting me I clicked the play button. The slot itself features 5 reels and 15 paylines and is quite crisp, considering it isn’t covering a new theme. Aztec-themed slots have been around for some time; however, I did like that the designs were a lot more modern and I was pleasantly glad to see some simplistic yet well-drawn and coloured animation graphics.
How Popular is Aztec Temple Slot in South Africa?
Considering the fact that the developers, Join Games, are quite new to the market, their popularity has yet to sprout to a level that makes their slots extremely well known. I myself came across the slot because I was specifically searching for newer content. Some players, especially the old-timers tend to stick to what they know, as such a slot like Aztec Temple may slip through unnoticed because it’s relatively “new”. I think that as more reviews and game recaps are published this slot will start to rise in popularity in SA.
My Experience with Aztec Temple Slot
As I mentioned earlier, I appreciated the simplistic yet adequately coloured and saturated graphics and visuals. When I started playing the game I also came to appreciate the layout and the structure, the game play is seamless because of this. All the buttons I needed were available at the click of a button. I could easily adjust my coin values and bet levels. I also made use of the Bet Max function for when I started to feel chirpy, allowing me to easily place the maximum bet. For a newer game, I understand the need for a lower jackpot, in this case 750 coins, but I reckon the developers should look at upping this value up for future slots. Paytables are still attractive to slot players and it certainly would be a great tactic to get eyes on them. Over all, I quite enjoyed my experience with this slot, although I muted the background sound as it was a little ringy to my ear.
Bonuses, Gameplay, Variance
I have to say that Aztec Temple follows the more standard gameplay as it incorporates the default use of a scatter symbol and a wild symbol. The wild symbol which is denoted by what looks like a golden electric sun acts as an auxiliary to other symbols on the reels. This of course helps when it comes to completing those winning sequences as a medium variance slot. It pays up to 3000 coins if 5 are spotted on the lines. The scatter symbol, which to be frank, I am not quite sure what its denoted by (looks like an ancient sun-like Aztec relic), either way it acts as a free spin shooting machine. Landing three, four or five activates 10, 15 and 20 free spins respectively, which I liked a lot. Aztec Temple also features a bonus symbol that looks like an ancient Aztec mask and once on the reels can activate multipliers of up to 100 times my bet! I was like okay SIGN ME UP.
As far as slot games go, Aztec Temple is not too shabby at all. It follows the function and features formula to a T. I especially liked that I could score some awesome wins through a variety of channels due to the overflow of symbols which certainly doesn’t hurt much. I’ll be keeping an eye on Join Games to see what else they come up with.
